We have put together some activities that you can do while you’re at home with your family. It’s important to talk to your family about how you are feeling, and we hope these activities will encourage those conversations while having some fun.
Activity 1: Things that BUG me Managing diabetes day-to-day is hard, and many people do not understand. The first activity is to write down a few things about diabetes that bug you. e.g. “carrying food when going out”, “cancelling sleepovers”, “people asking, what’s that?” Print the ‘Things that BUG me’ worksheet, or draw your own bugs. Draw or write on the bugs the things that bug you about diabetes. Talk to your family or people close to you about what you wrote - it can feel good to get it off your chest.
Activity 2: How do you feel? We want to know - how do you feel today? The next activity will help you talk about how you are feeling. Print the ‘How do you feel today?’ worksheet or draw your own faces. Circle or draw one face that makes you laugh. Then circle or draw one face that is how you feel now. Talk to your family members or those close to you about how you feel now, and then talk about the face that makes you laugh. Ask how they feel and if they have a face that makes them laugh too.
